08. The last book you acquired, and how (begged, bought, borrowed?)

Last week I lend two books from the library: Rekindled from Tamera Alexander and a Dutch non-fiction book about Christianity in the USA and how it differs from Europe. The last book I bought was either Swansea summer by Catrin Collier or Cyndere's midnight by Jeffrey Overstreet, I can't quite remember which was last...

09. Your current read, your last read and the book you’ll read next.

I'm currently reading both Rekindled from Tamera Alexander and the non-fiction book about American Christianity. Before that I was reading the Dutch book Knielen op een bed violen by Jan Siebelink I wrote a post about a week ago. What my next read wil be depends a bit on whether the book I ordered at the library will come in in the next few days: The Outsider by Penelope Williamson. This is the book the movie The Outsider with Naomi Watts and Tim Daly was based on. I loved that movie, soooo romantic!

10. What author do you own the most books by and why.

I own all six novels by Jane Austen, so as seperate books that would count as 'the most'. But I've got The Lord of the Rings from Tolkien in seven seperate parts and I also own The Hobbit, so...

P.S. Inspired by [info]moonplanet I also counted my books. I turns out I have 185, including everything (fiction, non-fiction, little gift books, PhD thesis from friends etc). Not bad, I think!

a Dutch non-fiction book about Christianity in the USA and how it differs from Europe sounds interesting! What do you think of it?

I have two Jane Austen novels waiting for me in e-book form and I borrowed an "Android tablet" (like an I-pad but not from Apple) from my father, so after my exam/assignments I will try and see if I like reading on it!

185 books is quite a few! How much shelf space do those books take up?
*wonders if estimation of 300 books per bookcase is okay*

Yes, it's a really interesting book. It's informative and not judgmental or mocking, which I personally think is important, because I'm Christian as well, even though I don't agree with some things in the book. It's called In God we trust by Peter Vermaas, btw.

About the shelf space: I posted a picture of my bookshelves a while ago, here:http://birdienl.livejournal.com/13426.html#cutid1. Well, that bookcase is now completely full. Even some books stacked on top of each other. And I've got about 10-15 books in other places in my room. So, a bookcase containing about 300 books is a rather large one. But it also depends on what size your books are ofcourse!

I just looked up the book on the library site and they have it in the library in Eindhoven (of which we have a "family membership" card). Next time I'm in Eindhoven I'll go to the library :) I think it's an interesting topic and a number of my friends in America are Christian.

Your bookcase looks very nice!! I think maybe you can fit 300 books in it if they're all pockets and you make double rows (and most English/Japanese books are published in pocket size). In my bookcase you can make three rows of pockets or two rows of normal books. Maybe I should count how many books actually are in that bookcase XD (my bookcase is a mess though... that's why I'm cleaning it up now).
