Niklas Henkle is living the fast life. As a successfull business executive he flies around the world. Every week another city and in every city another girl. Today it's New York, where he has the task of shutting down a division of the company he works for. What he didn't expect was meeting up with one of its employees and falling for her. Singer-songwriter Leticia combines her budding musical career with a job that pays the bills and has just moved into her first own apartment. One day she hears the devastating news she'll loose her job and keeps on meeting an annoying, but attractive German businessman.

I first heard about this independent movie after I had 'discovered' the German actor Ken Duken in 'The Sinking of the Laconia'. I found him to be a) a wonderful actor and b) extremely handsome, so I had to see what other movies I could watch him in. Along came the trailer for 'My last day without you', which looked like a cute different-than-others romantic comedy. And I can definitely recommend it to lovers of that genre!

Though the movie might not have the big names and the Hollywood budget other romcoms have, it has a sense of freshness and reality some of it's ten-a-penny cousins miss. Both main actors, Nicole Beharie and Ken Duken were really good and they formed an adorable couple together. There were a few cute secondary characters, of which I especially want to mention Laith Nakli as Mahdi, Niklas' driver (and Cupid!). The scenery and cinematography was well done, taking us to a different part of New York than most movies choose. Last but not least, the music really deserves a mention. Nicole Beharie, who sings five songs in the movie, has a wonderfully strong and warm voice and her songs really add something extra to this movie.

This movie sounds delightful! Thank you for the review. It's a shame it's not available on Neflix...
