It's becoming a bit of a tradition (you can call something a tradition when you're doing it for the fourth time right?) to post a fandom picspam/masterlist of everything I watched and read at the end of the year (or the beginning of the next...) In the lists I've linked to reviews and posts I wrote about various movies, books and tv-shows. If you're interested in anything which I haven't reviewed, don't hesitate to ask!

You've been very busy this year! :)

I've been meaning to try out Bletchley Circle, glad to hear you thought it was good! And you watched Dancing on the Edge too? What did you think of it?

Hehe, I guess so! I was actually surprised looking back how much I watched. I already knew I read more than last few years (thanks to my Kindle app!), but it didn't felt as if I spent much more time watching movies etc.

Anyway, Dancing on the edge is very good. Beautifully made, great acting performances, great story. But, it also had a very strange atmosphere. There was always a dark undercurrent in the story, even when everything seemed to be going well, even at the most relaxed moments. Apparently this is something the director Poliakoff does, because I also felt this (even stronger) with his movie Glorious 39. Next to this, somehow you never know about the characters in Dancing on the edge. Do they really mean what they say? Do they have hidden motives? So yes, definitely worth a look, but something that will not let go of you very easily!

I watched the first two or so episodes of Dancing on the Edge, but was a bit turned off by the weird atmosphere and the slow pace. Sounds like I need to give it another try! :)

What did you think of Midnight in Paris and Never Let Me Go?

Midnight in Paris was a really nice movie. I never thought I would enjoy a movie by Woody Allen and a movie with the main character played by Owen Wilson that much, but it was a charming and sweet story and just all-round well-made.

Never Let Me Go was also very well-made with great acting from Carey Mulligan (as can be expected...) and Keira Knightley. The subject matter is very heavy though, which makes the movie rather bleak.

I <3333 Midnight Paris. Agreed that it's a bit different than one would expect from Woody Allen and/or Owen Wilson, haha!
