Day 08 - The best opening/closing credits

I'm going to cheat with this question and talk about opening/closing credits of tv-shows. Probably because you hear them every episode again they leave a larger impression. The opening credits of McLeods Daughters are lovely, not just the music, but also the graphics. I sing it along every time. The opening tune of Doctor Who is exceptional and unique. But the tune that has made the largest impression is from a children's show: Animals of Farthing Wood. I used to watch this lovely comic al the time when I was a kid. I had totally forgotten about it, until a friend of mine let me hear the show's theme tune. Memories came rushing back, apparently that's what a good tune can do to you! Who of you, in the same age category as me, also gets warm and fuzzy feelings when hearing this little piece of music?

Day 09 - The best soundtrack/score to a film

The Chronicles of Narnia wins hands down! I love soundtracks of epic movies, and Narnia's music is just gorgeous. And a special mention goes to the song 'The Call' from Regina Spektor. It is played during the closing credits of TCON: Prince Caspian and it actually reduced me to tears! The first lines of the text are so lovely: It started out as a feeling, which then grew into a hope, which then turned into a quiet thought, which then turned into a quiet word. And then that word grew louder and louder, till it was a battle cry. If that isn't poetic, I don't know what is!

Unfortunately I couldn't find a vid with Narnia footage which didn't have a muted sound.

Day 10 - Favourite classic film

The Sound of Music. I can watch it every year (it is usually on tv around Christmas) and I'm still not tired of it. That's what makes a good movie, doesn't it?
