Though this round at adapted20in20 was a free round, I decided to icon only Jane Eyre 2011, as I have been wanting to icon this gorgeous movie for a while now. I must admit I was a bit wary at first when I heard of another new Jane Eyre adaptation. Besides, I really loved the 2006 adaptation by the BBC and couldn't believe anything on the big screen could top that one. But, the movie had a surprise in store: I absolutely loved it! The cinematography was beautiful, Mia Wasikowska was a terrific Jane Eyre and Michael Fassbender a very good Rochester. It was highly charged, I was an emotional puddle after leaving the cinema... The only thing it suffered from, in my opinion, was being too short to really tell the story, but big screen adaptations will always have this disadvantage. So, a new favourite Jane Eyre? Maybe, let's just say for now it shares the first place with the 2006 adaptation!
